That farmers and gar-deners should not know their friends, but shouldconfound them with foes, is a truly lamentablecircumstance, and one which will never be mettill instruction in elementary natural history the ignorance it has brought to light, form suf-ficient witnesses of its importance. We repeat,then, that however suitable the Act may be forthe exigencies of the moment, proper instructionin common things will in the end be far morebeneficial in all ways. We are glad to take advantage of the oppor-tunity offered by the recent exhibition by Messrs.
