Palimpest je kružno obilježje na površini nebeskog tijela, svijetlije od okolnog terena, na površini tamnog ledenog satelita, kao što su Ganimed i Kalisto. Vjeruje se da su palimpesti udarni krateri kod kojih su sva reljefna obilježja kratera izgubljena.
