Dobivanje statusa

1. Botovi moraju biti odobreni prije rada, odnosno imati zastavicu; zahtjev za status se može ispuniti na ovoj stranici.
2. Naziv bota mora sadržavati riječ "bot" ili "robot", vlasnici botova bez ove riječi u nazivu bota mogu zatražiti promjenu naziva bota na stranici za istoimene zahtjeve.
3. Osoba koja podnosi zahtjev za status bota trebala bi prikazati eventualna odobrenja na drugima projektima Wikimedije, te, nakon podnesenog zahtjeva u slučaju interwiki botova, napraviti 20-30 test izmjena u intervalu od manje od 1 izmjene po minuti.
4. Status bota može biti uvjetan, ostajući u "probnom vremenu" kako bi se rad bota mogao bolje procjeniti. Uvjete i stupanj probnog vremena može odrediti administrator ili birokrat. Birokrat zadržava pravo odbiti bota koji ispunjava gore navedene zahtjeve po vlastitoj procjeni.

Ukidanje statusa

1. Birokrat može ukinuti bot status u sljedećim slučajevima:
   • Ako bot nije aktivan više od 12 mjeseci
   • Ako bot ne radi ispravno ili čini štetu
   • Ako je podnesen zahtjev za ukidanje bot statusa na stranici za zahtjeve

Globalni botovi

Odlukom zajednice glasovanjem dozvoljen je rad globalnih botova na Wikipediji na hrvatskom jeziku.

Bot flag approval

1. Bots must be approved before they may operate, approval permissions should be lodged on this page.
2. Name of the bot must contain word "bot" or "robot", owners of bots without this word in the bots name can request username change for bot at the requests page.
3. A person applying to be allowed to run an interwiki bot should as follows:
   • Present the already existing permissions to run the bot on other Wikimedia projects (if there is any)
   • Should make 20-30 test editions (less then 1 edit per minute) after the application is lodged on the proper page (this one only for interwiki bots)
4. Approval may be conditional on the bot account remaining in a "trial period" in order that its operation be reviewed. The terms and extent of such a trial period may be determined by sysop or bureaucrat. Bureaucrat may reject bots who fulfill the formal requirements as specified above as they see fit.

Bot flag removal

1. Bureaucrats may remove a bot flag in the following cases:
   • When the bot has been inactive for 12 months
   • When the bot does not work properly or works in a destructive manner
   • When a legitimate request for removing the bot flag has been filed on this page

Users of hr Wikipedia decided by voting that they allow work of global bots on this Wikipedia.
