Kako i mene to zanima, napisao sam dva članka - Rimska osobna imena i Točno pisanje klasičnih imena - gdje navodim kako treba pohrvaćivati rimska imena.
Hvala! MonteChristo 21:32 14 Apr 2004
Translation of the week[uredi kôd]
Currently we have started a project on meta.wikipedia to get an article translated in as many wikipedias as possible every week. The article will be about a subject that usually gets rarely translated and has a lot of links to other subjects. Currently we have no-one to translate in your language. If someone is interested to participate please see: meta:Translation of the week You can also submit articles from your own languages there that you think deserve translation, but have a small chance of it. The articles must not be to short and not to long and have lots of links to possible other articles! en:user:Waerth

Obavijest za slike[uredi kôd]
Hello, Saxum, Dnik, MonteChristo - and all the others!
I've added a new wikipedia page of Voynomir the Slav on the english wikipedia. User Kebeta claims, that this article should be merged with the article of Vojnomir of Pannonian Croatia. I've provided a few arguments why I had created a separate article. The only objective historical source about Vojnomir/Voynomir is Annales Regni Francorum, where he is mentioned as Wonomyrus Sclavus. There are two important info about him. He is not regarded as a duke, but only as Voynomir the Slav. It seems that ethnic component is important when there is a slavic coomamnder inside german army. So the most possible conclusion (according to the Occham razor) is that Voynomir the Slav was not a duke of any country, and that he was making career inside the frankish army. Nevertheless he is claimed to be the Duke of Slavic Istra by some authors, Duke of Panonian Slavs by some authors and as a Duke of Carniola or duke of some local Carantanian duchy by the others. But he could be also only the friulian Slav.
There is no certain contemporary proof that Voynomir the Slav is croatian Vojnomir. on the other side- hypotethical (real or only mythological- we do not know!) slavonian Vojnomir is based on real (and not only mythological) Voynomir the Slav. Chronicle of the Priest of Dioclea from XXII century mentioned one Slavonian duke Vojnomir as Voynomir the Slav, but this chronicle has a very shaky reliability about IX century (Svetopolk could never ruled Slavonia in the sixties and seventies for example)… So the passage about Vojnomir is probably an interpolation. My reasoning was like that: Voynomir the Slav is rather a common slavic heritage and can not be named as Vojnomir of Pannonian Croatia. But later- based on the figure of Voynomir the Slav- is also needed in wikipedia, because it is a page about croat/slavonian ruler (real or mythological). These arguments were important to me in order to preserve the article of pannonian Vojnomir and to create a new one about Voynomir the Slav.
User Kebeta provided no arguments beside this is the same historical person and he still claims that articles should be merged. But in order to preserve objecitveness in the joined articles, this would mean that following changes should be needed in the older article:
- change in the name (there are no strong proofs that Voynomir/Voynomir was a duke at all, and no proofs that he was a pannonian duke. The new name should be Vojnomir the Slav or something like that (Wonomyrus Sclavus is the only original name!).
- the part of the story talking about pannonian duke should be included as a special chapter (as a point of interest)
- infobox about croat dukes should be removed- imagine that some authors could add simmilar infoboxes about Carantanian greater or local dukes etc… There could be a great mess- and there is no certainty that Vojnomir was a duke at all.
- for the same reason box for slavonian rulers should be removed.
Please help us to resolve this problems. For me it is very important to know if these two articles should be merged, because I intend to write several articles about croat dukes on slovenian wikipedia. And I don't want to duplicate if majority is for merger.
Sorry about my english…
